Your time is valuable so make it count. You can arrive up to 15 minutes early for your session to go over wardrobe options.
Late Policy If you are more than 30 minutes behind your scheduled shoot time we may have to reschedule your session and you’ll lose your deposit. No one wins in this scenario so try not to be too late!
Know your type. Headshots are becoming more character driven so your wardrobe will play a significant counterpart on how your look translates on camera. Consult with your agent/manager or with coaches and friends.
Simplicity is always best, so when in doubt keep in mind that “less is more.”
Avoid patterns, stripes, logos, as they can be distracting.
Neutral colors such as beige, white, black, tan and grey often photograph the best. They complement your skin tones and don’t conflict with common background elements.
Wear clothing that fits properly. A proper fit that allows you to move and feel comfortable will help you look more confident in your portrait.
If you normally wear glasses, you should wear them for your session as you want you to look like you usually do. Don’t worry about shine or glare, as Sean knows how to work around it.
Wear minimal or no jewelry for your session. Jewelry that you wear on a daily basis is fine, but it's preferable not to have you accessorize and add extra jewelry that you usually wouldn’t wear. If anything, it should be kept simple to none, and its color should be neutral and non-distracting.
A good reference is JCrew or Banana Republic. Consult with your agency to find if they are looking for anything specific (ie. beauty, suit, corporate, fitness, etc.).
Wardrobe for modeling can make or break your images.
Steamer All clothes will be hanged and steamed at the studio.
Shoe styles should be simple and not distracting. Generally 2-4 pairs is more than enough.
Our artist will be helping you throughout your shoot. Please arrive with washed/dried hair and clean face. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to ask. Let us know if you have any allergies prior to arriving.
Doing your own HM Please prepare your hair and makeup prior to arriving. You are welcome to make any necessary adjustments once you arrive. All necessary supplies should be provided by you.
Outside artists are not permitted. See why HERE.
*HM Payment If you have booked your own private hair/makeup artist please bring a cash payment for this service. All payments, including hair and makeup, will be given to Sean at the end of your shoot.
The balance of your session is paid at the end of your session. You may pay by cash, credit, debit, check, or Venmo.
If paying by cash you will receive a 5% discount on the cost of your session excluding hair and makeup.
We normally book 3-5 weeks out. Sometimes we have last minute openings so feel free to email and ask!
This is largely based on the type of session and clients we are working with on a given day. More than enough time is allotted for each session.
Sessions can range from 30 minutes to over hour hours.. This is largely based on what we are aiming to accomplish within your session.
A look is one outfit photographed under a particular lighting setup. Adding glasses or removing a tie does not count as a separate look. We are happily flexible and will split a look in half, i.e. with glasses and without. That being said, changing tops, jackets, pants, etc., is considered a separate look.
Retouching is a separate cost. This is because there is a separate artist working on your chosen image/s in great detail.
Bring clothes you love to wear and would wear to an audition. Give thought to your character types and bring a selection of clothes that make most sense. Don’t worry about what will photograph well - if you love it bring it (this includes black and white). Sean suggests 1-3 options per look. Ask to schedule a call with Sean if you have additional questions.
Individual rates are as stated on the information - pricing page. Groups of three or more can receive a 10% discount. Return Sean Turi clients receive a 10% discount on all photo sessions.
Unfortunately, outside artists are not permitted to work in the studio due to insurance purposes and workflow standards. This does not mean your artist isn't amazing and we don't like them. The work around for this is to have your artist prepare you prior to arriving. Once at the studio you can make any necessary adjustments.
This depends - for lifestyle modeling, there is a good change you may want to reschedule.. Actor or corporate headshots, typically no unless we have arranged to shoot an outside look for you. We touch base with you 24 hours prior to your scheduled shoot date to confirm your session.
A $95 deposit is due one week prior to your schedule shoot to confirm your time slot. Final balance is due at the end of your session. You may pay by cash, credit, debit, check, or Venmo, Paypal, and Apple Pay.

A WORD FROM SEAN The core foundation of my studio is to create a fun, safe environment for you to be open in front of the camera and share your honest opinion. I encourage you to speak up. I have photographed thousands of people and have become quite good at understanding what you are looking for and taking the best approach to it. But this does not mean I can read your mind. Each and every person has their own personal vision of how they view themselves. My goal is to create a photo that you connect with. This takes a collaborative effort. There is an important distinction between a good headshot and a great headshot; a good headshot looks like you, a great headshot feels like you. This is your shoot so have fun with it and share your opinion.
REFUND POLICY We do not offer refunds. The old way of getting photos taken was to see them after the photo shoot was done hoping you got what you needed. This is putting a lot of trust and a bit of hope into someone to capture a very personal image. If your photographers vision does not match exactly with yours you can be left with a group of photos that may not be what you envisioned. Sean has taken a bold, distinctively modern approach to change all of this.
FULLY IMMERSIVE AND HANDS ON Test shots and the big screen: Tests shots are taken and displayed on our monitor or our impressive projection screen to show you exactly how hair, makeup, and wardrobe translates on camera before we proceed with each look. If there is something you do not like, tell us. We can make the immediate change to your liking.
WARDROBE Test shots are made with each look comparing a few of your wardrobe choices. This allows you to make a calculated decision on which outfit is strongest choice for that particular look.
HAIR AND MAKEUP The professional hair and makeup team working at Sean's studio are independent artists. Each artist has been formally trained and has years of work experience within the fashion, commercial, theatre, and TV/film arena. Many of Sean's work relationships with his artists extend years back. Refunds are not offered with this service.
OUTSIDE ARTISTS Unfortunately, outside artists are not permitted to work in the studio due to insurance purposes and workflow standards. This does not mean your artist isn't amazing and we don't like them. The work around for this is to have your artist prepare you prior to arriving. Once at the studio you can make any necessary adjustments.
WE ENCOURAGE YOU TO SPEAK UP Hair style and makeup application is a collaborative effort. Style can vary greatly based on personal preference. Our goal is to get you camera ready with a professional touch. Matching how you typically wear your hair and makeup is our goal. Your session is a safe place to make requests and ask for changes. Remember, this is your shoot so get it right.
